He was a homebuilder from Bendigo, Australia.Intense searching by local authorities, family, and volunteers took place for more than 3 weeks. A memorial service was held for him in October 2008. In the spring of 2009, pig hunters found Parsons' pension card, a pair of dentures and a human leg bone. Police ran DNA tests on the bone, but the results were inconclusive.
